The Greens are bidding to wrap up their Caley 1 home programme on Saturday with a win against basement side Aberdeen Wanderers.

Coach Kenny Russell is hoping his side can post a third win at Millbank as he continues to reshape a squad still in transition following the retirement of a clutch of experienced campaigners.

His task has not been made any easier as a result of having to introduce a new midfield partnership.

Regular centres Charlie Quinn and Stuart Crichton are both unavailable, while Dougie Webster and skipper Marc Anderson will not see any further action this season as a result of shoulder injuries.

Anderson aggravated a previous condition in the Exiles game on December 27 while Webster, who had sidelined for most of the season, sustained a new problem in the opposite joint in the recent 28-5 loss to Dunfermline.

Russell said: "We have a few boys missing as our season was scheduled to finish last Saturday and they have made other arrangements for this weekend.

"It has given us a real headache at centre and it may be that we play Scott Webster there outside Jamie Mowat and move a winger into 13."

Russell is also hoping veteran Graham Fryer may help out in what the latter has announced will be his final season with the Greens.

"He has helped us out a few times this season and if he is available I would have no hesitation in fielding him on Saturday," the coach said.

"He's been an absolute stalwart for the club and he will be a big miss."

Front-rower Hamish Coghill is another absentee and Grant Anderson is still offshore but the Greens will welcome back number eight Reece Coghill from injury and new father Tom Storey, in the second row.

Russell said: "I'm looking to us to reproduce the intensity and passion we brought to the game against Dunfermline, especially in the first half.

"We could give starts to a couple of the new young guys coming through, like Sinclair Bremner, Ryan Cormack and Max Kennedy, who all have shown up well for us recently.

"Despite Wanderers' league position, we cannot take anything for granted, especially given our recent up-and-down form."

The game at Millbank kicks off at 2pm.

The Seconds are also at home as they play their penultimate Caley 3 match versus Turriff. It also kicks off at 2pm.
