The Sinclair Cadzow Memorial Trophy is at stake in the match at Millbank, which usually attracts a bumper crowd.

The Exiles last year reversed a decade-long famine when they turned on the style to run in six tries in a 36-13 victory.

The game was Colin Sangster’s first back in charge of the relegation-haunted Greens, who went on to survive comfortably after running into a rich vein of form.

Sangster is looking forward to Wednesday’s game, especially as the Exiles side is being assembled by his son Donald, who plays for Stewarts Melville.

He said: “The Exiles won last year and the year before we won though it was pretty close.

“We’ve moved away from the one-sided games they were for a while and I’m expecting another very competitive game.”

The outing will also give a much-needed run-out for the Greens whose last fixture was a 58-10 RBS Caledonia 1 win over Hillfoots at Millbank on December 1.

The game has a 1pm kick-off.
