Former Brora Rangers manager is banned from all sport for four years following anti-doping rule violations

FORMER Brora Rangers manager Craig Campbell has been banned from all sport for four years following Anti-Doping Rule Violations.
A UK Anti-Doping report which has been published today, revealed Campbell was stopped by police officers outside Dudgeon Park in Brora on October 27, 2018 when Brora were due to play Formartine United.
The police officers found in Campbell’s possession a quantity of cocaine, as well as £2,515 in cash.
On 30 September 2020, Campbell was convicted at Tain Sheriff Court of supplying a controlled drug (cocaine) between 1 August 2018 and 27 October 2018.
On 22 December 2022, UKAD notified Campbell of the ADRVs and issued him with a provisional suspension from sport.
Following an unsuccessful application from Campbell to have the Provisional Suspension lifted, UKAD formally charged Mr Campbell on February 2 2023 with the commission of ADRVs for the Possession of a Prohibited Substance and Trafficking a Prohibited Substance.
Campbell accepted that he committed the ADRVs, however he disputed the applicable sanction. The case was determined by an independent tribunal of the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP). On 20 June 2023, the NADP found the charges proven and imposed a four-year ban from sport on Campbell.
This is deemed to have commenced on 22 December 2022 and will expire at 23:59 on 21 December 2026.
Speaking on the case, Hamish Coffey, UKAD Director of Operations, said:
“Several of the Anti-Doping Rules apply to Athlete Support Personnel, as well as Athletes. It’s imperative that everyone working in sport understands their responsibilities under the Rules, and that they conduct themselves with integrity on and off the field.”
