Five seconds between top two in Caithness Cycling Club time trial
In Caithness Cycling Club’s weekly 10-mile time trial it was again a Stuart Swanson/Iain Miller one-two but with a mere five seconds between them.
On a pleasant evening the temperature was a mild 15C but although the wind was just 8 mph it was a headwind on the predominantly uphill outward leg, resulting in most riders being outside their season’s best.
Times: 1 Stuart Swanson (road bike), 25 min 06 sec; 2 Iain Miller, 25.11; 3 Alistair Miller, 26.44; 4 William Calder, 27.08; 5 Gary Angus, 28.39; 6 Alasdair Washington, 30.12; 7 Martine Hughes (road bike), 33.19; 8 Jessica Simmons (road bike), 34.31.
In the handicap league Iain Miller now has a small lead over Roger Broughton and Martine Hughes and these three are now drawing away from the rest of the field.

Nine riders competed in Wick Wheelers’ latest 10-mile time trial. Conditions were once again favourable with a temperature of 19C and a 10 mph south-west wind.
Three riders improved their personal best times. Stuart Swanson dipped under 25 minutes with 24.57, Rhys Evans took 44 seconds off his previous best for 25.51 and James Munro improved by 11 seconds for 25.52.
All the other riders recorded times close to or bettering their best time this season.

A 25-mile time trial was held the following Monday evening with the three riders taking part.
All riders beat their PB for a “25”, with Stuart Swanson coming first from James Munro and Rhys Evans.
