Five Minutes With... Richard Macadie
Occupation: Decommissioning Operative.
Position at Wick Academy: Midfield.
Nickname: Spec.
Teams that I have played for in the past: Ross County Under 19s.
What are my strengths? I would say fitness, I get my fair share of goals and my heading ability is second to none.

What do I consider my greatest achievement? Winning the Highland League player of the year in 2009 and to help the club finish fifth in the same season. Being picked by other players in the league was a great feeling.
Who is the best player at your club? On current form, Davie Allan has to be up there. But overall I would say Craig Shearer. He has been a great player every season I have been at the club.
If money was no object, which footballer would you like to see play at Wick Academy? Wayne Rooney.
Hardest opponent played against? Aiden McGeady. My first game for Ross County under 15s was against Celtic and I was up against him in midfield. He was quick and full of tricks and we lost the game 8-0.
The football team I support and why? Growing up, my team was Aberdeen but I like Manchester United too.
My sporting hero is and why? My favourite footballer ever was Ronaldo (the fat one) – he was an awesome player. I also liked Ronaldinho as he could do incredible things with a football.
What is the best advice you’ve been given? To always play football, no matter what level you’re at.
Favourite ground to play at? I like playing at Harlaw Park as we developed a habit of beating Inverurie Locos in recent seasons. Princess Royal Park at Deveronvale probably has the best pitch, though.
Away from football, I like to spend my time? Earning a pound and fishing.
Favourite movies? Man on Fire, Stepbrothers, Anchorman and Super Troopers.
What other sports are you interested in? Fishing. I like golf but I have no time to stick at it.
What are your hopes for the future? To play football for as long as I can and hopefully win the Highland League with Wick Academy.
