Entries open for Mey 10K
ENTRIES have opened for the Castle of Mey 10K which is being run on Sunday, May 11.
The annual event has become firmly established as one of the premier running events in the north of Scotland, attracting competitors from all over the country.
Along with the full 10K event, organisers North Highland Harriers (NHH) introduced a Mey Mile last year, which attracted 93 runners of all ages and was a big hit with spectators. It is hoped to build on this fun event as part of the day’s activities.
For new and experienced runners, NHH will be running training sessions for entrants in the 10K every Monday from January 20 starting at 6pm at the Blue Door café in Thurso. Details can be found at www.northhighlandharriers.co.uk and on the new Castle of Mey 10k Facebook page.
The club is keen to hear from anyone who would like to take up the challenge of the Castle of Mey 10K, or wishes to take up running for the first time. With six qualified coaches within the club, there is a wealth of experience and excellent advice to keep runners on track to their goal.
There will be ongoing reports and progress reports on the preparation of individual runners in the run-up to the big day in May. As with previous years, the event can only accept 600 entrants.
Entries for the 10K are available from www.entrycentral.com or contact northhighlandharriers@gmail.com
