Runners in the far north and further afield can now sign up to this year’s Caithness Half Marathon.

The event, which takes place on Sunday, September 10, is run on a measured course around Loch Watten, mostly on quiet tarmac country roads with views of the surrounding area.

Registration for the race is at Watten village hall from 11am, with the start at noon. There are toilets at the hall but no shower facilities, and parking is limited in the area.

Entries are now open on SiEntries, by searching for Caithness Half Marathon, and will also be available on the day.

North Highland Harriers, which organises the race, says that as well as trophies and medals, there will also be spot prizes.

Entry costs £17 (£15 for Scottish Athletics members) and half marathon runners must be over 17.
