Thurso swimmers had two reasons to celebrate after securing the Munro Shield and Chamber of Commerce Challenge Cup in separate events.

Team captains Keira Bain and Tom Armitage lifted the Munro Shield after the 42nd annual Thurso Amateur Swimming Club (TASC) swim meet in September. The trophy is awarded for the team with the most points overall.

Clubs from Buckie, Elgin, Forres, Inverness, Orkney, Tain and Wick took part in this successful and highly competitive event.

Tom also won the Bentley Cup for the swim deemed to be the best overall by a TASC swimmer during the meet. This was for his 100m backstroke.

The trophy presentation was made by Robbie Campbell, TASC president and representative of the meet sponsor, JGC Engineering and Technical Services.
