The Golspie sprint saw Caithness drivers fly off the mark with fast times aplenty.

Incorporating two rounds of the 2019 Scottish Sprint Championships, the sprint, held at the Golspie kart race track, was well supported with a record entry of 62 competitors.

The fastest times on both days were set by Louise Calder of Thurso in her Jedi Mk 1 (87.95secs) and Scottish Hillclimb champion Garry Dickson of Thurso driving a Force RGC (66.15secs).

Calder's efforts also had the added bonus of seeing her win the Scottish Top 10 Championship.

Other drivers from the county also fared well. Wick's Jody Gordon, in his Lotus II Eleven, took both rounds of the Class A1 section crossing the flag in times of 113.43 sec and 85.22 respectively, while Halkirk's Bill Lambie jnr, in his Westfield Megabusa, also won both rounds in the the Class A6 section with times of 95.05 and 71.89.
