Deirdre Macangus has made it a dozen wins in the ladies' club championship at Wick.

She fought off the challenge of Carol Place over the Reiss links course to secure the title for the 12th time.

Deirdre, who plays off a handicap of seven, won her first club championship in 1993.

"I'm delighted to have won the club championship for a 12th time, especially during this current climate, and also to have won in Wick Golf Club's 150th year," Deirdre said.

"Marion Mackay has won the title 14 times, so I have a bit to go yet to beat that record."
