A newcomer to Thurso Bowling Club played his part in securing victory for his team in the Highland Triples competition on Saturday.
It was a mixed day of weather, with the wind picking up in the afternoon and making for some interesting bowls.
After some close games throughout the day, the final saw Douglas Morrison, Peter Knapp and Julie Knapp against David Manson, Ronnie Bain Jnr and Ronnie Bain Snr. David was competing in his first final, having joined the club a couple of months ago.
Trailing 8-1, Morrison's team picked up a five and continued to stay level with their opponents. In the final end Morrison's team were 13-14 down.
