Thurso youngster Erin Sutherland had an unforgettable day out on Sunday when she was a guest of Scottish Rugby.

The 12-year-old was one of the mascots at Murrayfield who accompanied the Scotland and New Zealand squads onto the pitch.

Erin was paired with Scotland centre Sione Tuipulotu as the players emerged from the tunnel to line up for the national anthems.

She later had her photo taken with Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg.

The Thurso High School pupil travelled down with dad Martin, mum Laura and grandad Bryan Dods, who were given complimentary tickets for the game.

Erin, of St Olaf Road, Thurso, took up rugby a year ago and plays for Caithness under-14s.

"Sione Tuipulotu was really nice," she said. "I was the last mascot out so I could keep an eye on the younger ones.

"It was a fantastic experience that I'll never forget. I was really lucky and received the new Scotland kit and a boot bag.

"I got to meet Chloe Rollie from the Scotland women's team in the mascot area and then met most of the men's team after the match. My favourite was Stuart Hogg."
