Caithness Gymnastics Club's Alana Bain and Megan Wright travelled to Astro Gymnastics club in Livingston to undertake a coaching assessment they had been working towards before the pandemic.

They both passed their individual assessments and are now qualified Level 1 rhythmic gymnastic coaches.

The assessments had to be postponed because of Covid-19 but have now resumed. Alana and Megan are now looking forward to training for their Level 2 awards.

Caithness Rhythmic, a section of Caithness Gymnastics Club, benefited from Tesco’s Groundwork funding – better known as the Tesco tokens. This, together with the club's own fundraising at the community Christmas market in Thurso in December and fundraising carried out before the pandemic, has allowed the purchase of much-needed new equipment.

The club has places for new rhythmic gymnasts aged from five to seven – email alanabain1986@gmail.com for details.
