Champion returns after injury time out

The club’s current champion lined up for this season’s sixth 10-mile time trial and notched 27 mins 43 sec to take fifth.

Alec Lamb had a personal best time to finish seventh, but it was Shetland visitor Peter Fenwick who was fastest in 22.59.

Lamb, 29.15 (PB); 8, Mark Webster, 29.25; 9, Les Oliphant, 29.35; 10, Joan Henry, 29.50; 11, Paul Bremner, 30.12; 12, Norman Bremner, 31.49.

Week five saw a strong performance from youngster Mark Webster who scored a personal best of 28.55, taking sixth ahead of Joan Henry.

David Sutherland held on to fourth from Brian Grant by only three seconds.

Caithness Cycling Club’s David Morrill produced the fastest time.

Difficult weather conditions resulted in only two riders taking part in the club’s second 25-mile time trial of the season.

Stuart Anderson finished with a time of 1.08.49 ahead of Brian Grant in 1.12.36.
