Three juniors from Castletown Primary School took part in the SSBU (Scottish Schools Badminton Union) Primary Championships 2024 in Stirling.

Finlay MacDonald (12), Myah Macleod (11) and Sophie Mackay (10) all played well, gaining lots of experience, with all disciplines (singles and doubles) playing group stages before play-offs. The two in each group progressed to the main draw, with the bottom two in the group going to the B-plate play-offs.

Results: Girls’ singles – Main draw: Mackay, quarter-finals; Macleod, round one.

Boys’ singles – Main draw: MacDonald, round one.

Girls’ doubles – Main draw: Mackay and Macleod, runners-up.
