CAMPS "2" are now four points clear at the top of Wick and District Pool League’s division one after defeating the Commercial 7-4.

George Zindilis’s Commercial side performed well in a close match, but it is the Camps lads who still remain undefeated this season.

Blackstairs "1" and "2" fell further behind the league leaders as they both lost 6-5 to Queen’s and Francis Street Club "1" respectively.

The Seaforth Club struggled to adjust to their incredibly fast new table, losing out 6-5 to Bayview "1". The singles frames were shared to make it 3-3, with wins for Craig Durrand, Phil Ablett and Dale Johnston for the home side.

Still they could not be separated as the score went to 4-4. Seaforth Club had a glorious chance to go 5-4 ahead, but missed a black that was sitting over the pocket, which cost them the frame.

The next frame saw Durrand inadvertently pot the black to hand victory to Bayview "1".

Crown "1" won seven frames in a row as they battled back from 3-1 down to grab an 8-3 win against bottom side Camps "1". William Little and Stevie Cunningham won all their matches, and the Crown side also grannied their opponents in the trebles.

Sinclair Bay lost their first league match of the season 6-5 to Harper’s and Francis Street Club "2" won their second game of the season after impressively defeating Bayview "2" 7-4.

The Mountain Dew derby went the way of the first team in an entertaining match that ended with an 8-3 scoreline. Callum Reid and Michael Sutherland were the star players, winning all their matches.

There will be an open pool competition in the Camps Bar on Saturday, December 3, with a start time of 1.30pm.

There is also a competition for second-division players only on December 17 in the Francis Street Club.
