Campbell in cracking form at Wick darts league's Christmas competition

Young Ryan Campbell showed that he is probably the best player in Wick and District Darts League as he secured victory in the Christmas Cracker event with a breathtaking finish.
With his opponent Willie McLean (Norseman) awaiting a throw for the title himself, Smiddy "2" player Ryan took out 124 (60, 14, 50) for the Division One win at the Seaforth club.
An early casualty was last year's winner Willie Plank (Castletown Poachers), who lost out to John Gunn (Harper's), while Ryan Campbell (Seaforth) was beaten 3-0 by another talented Thrumster youngster, Logan Moodie.
Kara Sutherland took the ladies' title with a 3-2 win against Alison Tait in an all-Seaforth final. Sammy Campbell and Skye Blackwell (both Seaforth) lost out in the last four.
Queen's man David Simpson lifted the Division Two title with a 3-1 victory over Smiddy "4" player Harry Macbeath. Ian McDonald (Queen's) and Dylan Gunn (Park) were the beaten semi-finalists.
