Caithness youngsters shine for Team North

Their team-mates came from clubs across the Highlands and Islands and they took on seven other clubs from the north and east of Scotland.

Team North finished third overall behind Aberdeen and Inverness. Despite the early morning start and the long journey, all the far north contingent did well with personal bests and a total of four first places.

Taking part were: under-13s Stuart Kirk, Stephanie Eyers and Kim Johnston and under-15s Rhiannon Kirk and Gaby Macgregor.

Results: Stuart Kirk – hurdles – A 3rd 15.96 seconds (PB). High jump A – 5th 1.10 metres.

Stephanie Eyers – shot putt A – 1st 7.43m. Hurdles B – 1st – 14.5 (PB). High jump – A – 5th 1.15.

Kim Johnston – high jump B – 4th 1.10. Long jump B – 3rd 3.07 (PB). Shot putt B – 5th 4.61.

Rhiannon Kirk – 800m A – 1st 2.35.3 (PB). 200m B – 5th 30.1 (PB).

Gaby Macgregor – hurdles B – 5th 16.6. Discus B – 4th 10.59. 1500m B – 1st 5.52.1 (PB).
