All three of Caithness United's age groups have received new strips that match those worn by Wick Academy's first team, sponsored by Unite the Union.

All three of their age groups – the under-12s, under-14s and under-16s squads – will now be wearing new strips that have been sponsored by Unite the Union.

The kit matches those worn by Highland League outfit Wick Academy’s first team, who Caithness United proudly have a very close association with.

Club chairman Alan Turner said: “Caithness United Football Club are absolutely delighted to announce that we have secured a new strip sponsor through ‘Unite the Union’.”

The Unite the Union logo is emblazoned across the front of each top, which is something that Davie Alexander and John Deighan are very happy to see.

Both men have pre-existing connections with the union, having each previously served as secretaries of the union’s local branch,

Alexander explained: “Prior to the formation of Unite, the preceding unions were always very supportive of various community groups within the area.

“So continuing to support clubs such as Caithness United is something we are very proud to be able to do again now.”

Deighan echoed those same sentiments by going on to point out: “The Unite Regional Secretary Marc Jackson and the local branch were very pleased to support Caithness United.

“The club draws on lots of youths from all over the county, and after speaking to a couple of members of the committee it was recognised that this was a very worthy recipient of the sponsorship.”

Alan Turner also spoke of the impact that receiving the new strips have already had on the players and coaches at the club.

“Caithness United are extremely grateful to the generosity of Unite the Union,” Turner added.

“They have been excellent to deal with throughout the process of sponsoring our club with what has amounted to 60 brand new strips, which look great.

“The coaches have also said that there’s an extra bounce in the players’ step now, with their strips now matching those of the first team.

“Everyone at Caithness United would like to express our sincere thanks to Davie, John, Mark and Unite the Union as a whole.

“Hopefully as a club we can continue to keep such close ties with them in the future.”
