A horse trained in Caithness took first place in the Small Show Hunter of the Year Championship at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham.

Irish-born five-year old Ebony King, trained by Russell Skelton and James Munro of Team Skelton at their yard near Wick and ridden by James, claimed first prize ahead of 28 competitors from around the UK and Europe.

Ebony King also won the Champion Hunter title at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh earlier this year.
