THREE Caithness teenagers are basking in the glory of being named among the top six under-18 darts players in Scotland.

Kara Sutherland finished second in the Scottish rankings after an outstanding season which she rounded off when she won the Scottish Youth Grand Prix by defeating fellow Caithness Youth Darts (CYD) player Abigail Duncan 3-1 in the final.

It was Kara’s third tournament win of the season following her successes at the Blairgowrie Open in September and the Glenrothes Open in August.

Abigail is fifth in the national rankings with the highlight of her season winning the Central Youth Open in Bannockburn in January.

The tournament wins meant both girls qualified for the World Masters in Bridlington where Kara reached the last 32 and Abigail the last 16.

It was also a successful season for CYD thrower Sammie Campbell from Thrumster who finished sixth in the national rankings.

Chloe O’Brien, from Blairgowrie, is the Scottish under 18 girls top-ranked player.
