Caithness surfers will be heading to Morocco in September.

SURFERS from Caithness make up half of the seven-strong Scotland squad competing at the European surfing championships next month.

Mark Boyd and Shoana Blackadder, from Thurso, along with Chris Clarke, from Dunnet, will be heading to Morocco to represent their country at Eurosurf on Saturday, September 12.

Boyd and Blackadder represented Scotland at the ISF World Games in Nicaragua during May and June with fellow Thurso surfer Scotty Main.

However, Clarke will be making his debut in international competition when he competes in the open and longboard competitions.

The Scottish national team is attempting to raise money to make it to Morocco and has set up a crowd-funding page for people to make donations to at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/scotland-surfing-team-eurosurf-2015
