TWO second-half goals on the counterattack resulted in the scoreline reflecting harshly on Caithness Ladies FC who put in an impressive performance in the Carolyn Firth Memorial Trophy match at Naver.
The home side got off to a bad start when they conceded an early goal as a result of a poor clearance.
But the setback seemed to spur Caithness into attack and they started to dominate with some fluid passing.

Hannah Hutson had the best chance of the half when her powerful strike was tipped on to the base of the post by the Orkney goalkeeper.
The visitors switched to a defensive outlook in the second half and managed to withstand heavy pressure from the Caithness ladies.
Caithness captain Lisa Campbell was the stand-out performer as she dictated the play.
Orkney were dangerous on the break as Caithness found after an attacking move broke down resulting in a quick counterattack which doubled the islanders’ lead.
Still hunting a goal, Leoni Mowat looked certain to score as she advanced one-on-one with the Orkney goalie only for her to pull off a tremendous save at the Caithness striker’s feet.
Christine Mackenzie and Hutson had further chances for Caithness only to be denied by the post and the bar.
As Caithness continued to push for a goal, Orkney again took advantage and in the closing seconds added a third to take the trophy back across the Pentland Firth.
