Caithness Riding Club dressage league off to a good start

This year’s winter dressage league, run by Caithness Riding Club at the indoor school in Halkirk, got off to a good start.
Judge for the day was Clare Molyneux, with Shona Gough as the scribe. A team of willing committee volunteers helped make the day a success.
There was a great number of junior riders and a high standard of turnout for the first event of the league, which will continue over the winter months.
The highest percentage of the day was achieved by one of the junior competitors, Leoni Kennedy, riding her show pony Fin. They won their section of the Prelim 7 test – the biggest class of the event – finishing on an impressive 79.75 per cent.
In the senior classes the best score was secured by Lynne Sutherland on her young horse Drumcrave Laddie. They were the winners of the senior Prelim 7 test with a per centage of 74.25.
