SEVEN riders from Caithness have been nominated for top equestrian awards in Scotland.

The county is set to have a big night at the 2018 Scottish Equestrian Awards taking place in Aberdeen on Saturday, February 3.

Ashley Anderson (Ashlea Stud) has been shortlisted in the Breeder of 2017 category while Jess Calder and horse Cui Flint are nominated in the working hunter pony and rider category.

Khara Findlater and Whaupshill Touche feature in the eventing combination category; Alasdair Matheson in the professional groom category and Karen Mowat and Ballairn the Conqueror in the amateur category.

James Munro and Ebony King are in the running for the show horse and rider combination award while Ruth Sutherland and Sterling are shortlisted for the working hunter horse and rider.
