Caithness restricted and open badminton championships well supported

James Swan and Pauline Craig each won a double at Caithness Badminton Association's annual restricted championships.
At the open championships, held a week later, a similar feat was achieved by Mark Mackay, Carole Begg and Chloe Mackenzie.
The two events were well supported by players from across the county.
Restricted championships – Men's singles final: Craig Stewart beat James Falconer 18-21, 23-21, 21-12.
Women's singles final: Chloe Mackenzie beat Ava Cook 21-8, 21-8.
Men's doubles final: James Swan and Taylor Swan beat Mark Mackay and Alan Larnach 21-17, 21-19.
Women's doubles final: Pauline Craig and Michelle Smith beat Lynn Gunn and Kirsty Henderson 21-14, 21-20.
Mixed doubles final: James Swan and Pauline Craig beat Grant Steven and Chloe Mackenzie 21-19, 21-17.
Open championships – Men's singles final: Mark Mackay beat John Durrand 21-6, 21-2.
Women's singles final: Chloe Mackenzie beat Lauren Gunn 21-6, 21-9.
Men's doubles final: Mark Mackay and Craig Jappy beat Iain Nicolson and Matthew Robertson 21-11, 21-13.
Women's doubles final: Chloe Mackenzie and Carole Begg beat Lauren Gunn and Beckie Gunn 21-8, 21-12.
Mixed doubles final: John Durrand and Carole Begg beat Iain Nicolson and Lauren Gunn 12-21, 22-20, 21-19.
