Caithness Pony Club riders compete in North Cup one-day event

Eight riders and 10 ponies representing Caithness Pony Club travelled to Ardmedden Equestrian at Oldmeldrum to take part in the North Cup one-day event. Hosted by Moray and Nairn Pony Club, it consisted of dressage, showjumping and cross-country.

Erin Hewitson on Whaupshill Touche competed in the 90+ section; Rowan Lee on Caheradoo Duchess in the 90cm section; Danielle Sinclair on Shelby GT and Liam Mackenzie on Wee Vintage Abbie and Vogue were in the 80cm section; and the 70cm section featured Ava Bain on Dennis and Balladen Macmagnum, Emily Donn on Biscuit, Cerys King on Rhoswen Glyndwr and Isla Miller on Fawkes.

Results – 90+cm: 1 Erin Hewitson, 27.3. 90cm: 3 Rowan Lee, 39.4. 80cm: 3 Liam Mackenzie, Wee Vintage Abbie, 35.4; 7 Liam Mackenzie, Vogue, 43.8. 70cm: 8 Ava Bain, Balladen Macmagnum, 47; 12 Emly Donn, 65.2; 13 Cerys King, 79; 14 Isla Miller, 79.4; 15 Ava Bain, Dennis, 124.

The North Cup was retained by members of Moray and Nairn Pony Club.

Erin Hewitson riding Whaupshill Touche competed in the BE90 Grassroots at Blair International Horse Trials. She gained 28 in her dressage and was clear in the showjumping, but picked up 0.8 of time penalty and was clear in the cross-country phase, just picking up one time penalty.

Erin finished on a score of 29.8 which was the best in her arena.
