RHIANNON Kirk was the sole member of Caithness Amateur Athletics Club to travel to Falkirk to compete in the Scottish National Cross Country Championships.

This is the showcase event in the cross country season with 1955 athletes taking part over the age groups – the largest entry for 16 years.

Rhiannon, from Castletown, was competing in the under-15 girls and finished a very credible 41st out of over 90 runners. With another year in this age group, she will be able to build on this experience next year.
