In week six of Caithness Cycling Club’s 10-mile time trial season, Wick visitor Hamish McAllan took first place with a time of 25 min 4 sec, 60 seconds ahead of Colin Earnshaw.

Third fastest was Ian Miller, with Alistair Miller – no relation – nine seconds behind. Conditions were again cool, with a temperature of 7C, and a wind speed of 13 mph from the north-west.

Chris Gregory and Martine Hughes both rode standard road bikes, with no aerodynamic tri-bars or disc wheels, to good effect with Hughes getting a season’s best by a massive 59 seconds to take the maximum of six points in the Handicap League. She was followed by Alistair Miller and Gary Angus, with improvements of 37 and 30 seconds respectively.
