LOCAL teams battled it out in the Eain Mackintosh Memorial Cup first round and the Colin Macleod Memorial Cup quarter-final this week.

Results – Eain Mackintosh Memorial Cup first round: Acks 0, Staxigoe United 4; Halkirk 1, Castletown 3; Ormlie Hotspurs 0, Thurso Pentland 5; Keiss 0, Pentland United 5; Rovers 0, John O’Groats 7; Wick Groats 9, Lybster 1; Swifts 3, Wick Thistle 2.

Colin Macleod Memorial Cup quarter-final: John O’Groats 1, Halkirk 3; Staxigoe United 1 Pentland United 0; Ormlie Hotspurs 1, Acks 3; Thurso Pentland 0, Wick Thistle 4.
