Caithness under-16s hosted a round-robin Caledonian Cup north pool competition on Sunday at Millbank where Highland and Orkney were the visitors.

With the hosts fielding a squad who mostly qualified as under-15s, they were always going to struggle against their older, more experienced opponents.

Coaches, however, took a lot of positives despite the team suffering 61-7 and 62-0 defeats to Orkney and Highland respectively. Highland took the overall honours after edging out the islanders 7-0 in the other 30-minute match.

Caithness squad: Benjamin Rogers (captain), David Oag, Jasper Davey, QiHao Du, Corey Macleod, Alexander Douglas, Leo Lynch, Connor Allan, Douglas Manson, Grant Mackay, Billy Kennedy, Liam Giles, Robbie Boyd, George Mills, Lee Pollard, Danny Dimes, Derek Dimes and Lewis Mackay.
