Manager Michael Bremner described Thurso's 7-0 away defeat to Clachnacuddin "A" as an embarrassment.

The Vikings remain third from bottom in the 13-team North Caledonian League with three games to go, starting with Saturday's trip to Easter Ross to take on ninth-placed Alness United.

Kieran Syrjanen and Troy Cooper shared the goals between them for Clach colts at Inverness Royal Academy. Syrjanen got four, including two penalties, and Cooper weighed in with a hat-trick.

"It was shocking," Bremner said. "It was an embarrassing result and an embarrassing performance.

"We were really short, but that's no excuse. It was a really bad day all round, a typical end-of-season performance.

"We're not playing for anything and it seems like players are thinking about the summer league already."

Bremner is unavailable this weekend so his assistant Scott Davidson will deputise.

"I'm hoping we get a result on Saturday in Alness, our last away game of the season, but at the moment it's looking like we will be scraping a team together again," Bremner said. "Scott will be in charge so hopefully he can get a squad and a result."

Fort William moved up to second place – but only temporarily – after an 8-0 home win against bottom-of-the-table Bonar Bridge. Martin Munro led the way with a first-half hat-trick, with the other goals coming from Darren Quigg (2), Andrew McLean, Logan Barker and an own goal.

St Duthus were 3-2 away winners against Inverness Athletic.

James Mackay’s opener for the Tain side was cancelled out by Sandy White, but Bradi Hulme restored St Duthus's lead. White then put the ball in his own net before John McLeod reduced the deficit.

Andrew Miller's stoppage-time goal gave Invergordon a 2-1 midweek victory over Clachnacuddin "A" in Dingwall. Ben Kelly had put the Easter Ross side in front before Ryan Walker levelled.

Sam Mackay hit a double as Golspie came from behind to beat Loch Ness 2-1 on Saturday and seal a place in the North Caledonian Cup final.

It was the second week in a row the Sutherland side had beaten Loch Ness away, following their 3-1 victory in the league.

Keith Mason gave the league leaders an early advantage but Golspie turned things around.

They will take on Invergordon in the final after the reigning league champions saw off Nairn County "A" 2-0 with goals from Ben Kelly and Stuart Leslie, one in each half.
