Ellon are scheduled to first-foot the Greens on Saturday in the first in a run of five successive fixtures at Millbank.

The matches will complete what has been a disjointed programme in the North Conference of Caledonia League 1 for Cameron Boyd's side.

They have won both of their home clashes to date, against Mackie and Aberdeenshire, and the head coach is eager to extend that sequence to move the Greens up the table.

He was disappointed by their flat, insipid performance in the Boxing Day 31-5 defeat versus the Exiles.

They lacked any festive fizz, being outgunned in just about every area of the park.

"I thought it was a pretty poor display overall," Boyd said.

"We struggled to generate any go-forward and got sucked into playing the game they [the Exiles] wanted to play.

"It was probably one of our worst performances I have seen this season."

He is looking for a much punchier display from his pack, who were bullied at the breakdown and offered little threat with the ball.

The Greens will have to go some to overturn the 57-8 pounding they suffered at Ellon in mid-September.

They will feature a much-changed line-up from that defeat and Boyd is looking for more of the steady improvement he has seen in their league outings since he took over at the start of November.

Flanker Duncan Mackay misses out but number eight Cole Wilson is among a handful set to return to strengthen the pack.

Scrum-half Euan MacDonald remains out with knee ligament damage, with Boyd looking to tinker with the back division.

He is confident Ellon will find they are up against a much stronger, cohesive unit this weekend.

"The squad that went to Ellon were missing a lot of players and we'll be a completely different proposition on Saturday," Boyd said.

"It's the first in a run of home games and we need to capitalise on that."

The Greens will also be looking to put down a marker for their second-round National Shield home tie against Ellon on February 17.

Saturday's match kicks off at 2pm.
