An impressive team performance ended the Camps players’ hopes of a fourth straight league and cup double.

Ryan Carter got Camps “2” off to a great start as he defeated James Riach to go 1-0 ahead.

Some fantastic potting from Gordie Steven in the next frame helped his Blackstairs side level the match at 1-1.

Cook, Arthur Bruce and Alan Forbes all played well as Blackstairs won the next three frames to go 4-1 ahead.

David Hendry put in an excellent clearance to get the Camps side back into the match and reduce their deficit to two frames.

Carter and Alec Thomson missed important black balls in the next two frames, which the Blackstairs team took full advantage of to win the championship.

Meanwhile, Queen’s were presented with the second division trophy on Monday night and Camps “2” received their seventh division one championship.

Riach won this season’s singles league while Carter clinched the total clearance challenge cup.

The 2013 Captain’s Cup takes place in the Sinclair Bay Hotel tomorrow with a start time of 12pm.
