During his run into the final Baxter didn't lose a leg over the best-of-three games of 501 up. He showed great composure in front of the large gathering of spectators and teenage players who were involved in an under-18 competition going on at the same venue.

In the final, Logan Moodie (10) from Wick’s Newton Park Primary School raced took the first 501 up leg. Baxter levelled at one each, with the deciding leg going to the Kirkhill pupil to lift the title.
