Angler claims victory in latest round of 2023 Bank League at Loch Ruathair

The fourth event of their 2023 Dounreay Fly Fishing Association Bank League took place at Loch Ruathair, four miles south of Forsinard.

A basket of 11 trout weighing 6 lbs. 1 oz. enough to give Neil Clyne his second Bank League trophy this season.

He won the Iain Hay Hill Lochs trophy by fishing the north end of the east bank with

Loch Ordie Hog and Green Tailed Kate MacLaren flies on an Intermediate line.

He also added the bonus point to the 11 for first place.

Toby Bracey was the only one to fish the west bank from where he took seven trout before adding three from the north end to give him second place and nine points) for his 5 lbs. 1 oz. bag.

Another 11 trout basket for 4 lbs. 14 oz gave Alex Donald third place and 7 points.

With only one Bank League competition to go, Neil Clyne has 36 points, Alex Donald 28 and Toby Bracey 26. They are followed by Tony Chalmers 19, and tied for fifth are Robbie Hawken and Michael Skerrit on 18.

The final round is at Loch Caluim on September 16. The next event is the Parry Trophy on Loch Watten on September 9.
