Acks came from behind to beat Keiss 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the Eain Mackintosh Cup on Wednesday night – but the Thurso club's player/manager Craig Trueman says they will need a much better performance against High Ormlie Hotspur in the last four.

Keiss, the last remaining second division side in the competition, went ahead at the Dammies through Lewis Gill. However, Acks responded with goals from Adam Porteous and Andy Hardwick.

Keiss had sent Kris Campbell off towards the end of the first period for a second bookable offence. Acks' Kyle Innes missed a second-half penalty.

Trueman said: "I thought we were the better team in the first half but just couldn’t seem to score. We missed a few good chances.

"But with 10 men I think they were the slightly better team in the second half, and in my opinion should have had a penalty in the second half as well.

"We’re obviously delighted to be through to the semi-finals but will need to play a lot better to give ourselves a chance against High Ormlie Hotspur."

Sean Campbell's second-half goal was enough to give holders Pentland United a 1-0 win against Wick Thistle at the Upper Bignold.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Tuesday, July 4, with the Stabbies taking on Wick Groats in the other tie in a repeat of last year's final.
