ONE of the North’s leading engineering and fabrication service companies has signed a three-year deal to become the main sponsor of Wick Academy.

Numax Energy Service Limited is backing the team as it prepares for its first Highland League season under new manager Davie Kirkwood.

In addition to appearing on the front of both the home and away first-team shirts, the move will also see the Numax logo taking pride of place at the side’s home ground, Harmsworth Park, as well as on the club’s website and match programmes.

New strips have been ordered and should be available for sale in time for the Scorries’ first game of the season – at home to Halkirk United in the first round of the North of Scotland Cup on July 26.

Stuart Charles Sinclair, Numax Group chief operating officer, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to support Wick Academy Football Club as club sponsor for the next three years. When I was approached about sponsoring Wick Academy, I could see immediately what a great opportunity this was for our engineering and fabrication division, Numax Energy Services Limited.

“Wick Academy will give us fantastic exposure locally and across the Highlands, but equally important to Numax Energy Services Limited is the chance to give something back to our local communities. I’ve always followed Wick Academy’s progress but, from now on, I, and several other Numax personnel, will be regular visitors to Harmsworth Park.”

Academy chairman Colin Stewart added: “We are delighted to have Numax Energy Services on board as our main sponsor. As a club we rely on these sponsorships to provide a financial security in our long-term planning.

“We look forward to seeing Stuart, along with his guests, at the Harmsworth Park where they will enjoy the success that this club has ambitions of.

WWe would also like David Steven of D. Steven & Son for their generous sponsorship and loyal support over the last 10 years.”
