Academy set up Cove rematch after thrashing Rothes
Highland League Cup Preliminary Round
Wick Academy 6 Rothes 1
Scorers: Weir (16, 54) Allan (29) Anderson (45) MacGregor (76) Macadie (83) Rothes: Henderson (90)
LAST year's Highland League Cup finalists will meet each other in next month's first round as Wick Academy thrashed Rothes to set up a trip to Cove Rangers.
Rothes have only managed to avoid defeat once this season, but manager Gordon Connelly took no chances as he fielded a full strength squad as Wick played their first game in three weeks in the preliminary round tie.

Academy managed to score three goals in each half with Gary Weir opening the scoring after just 16 minutes.
Davie Allan made it two after 29 minutes and Steven Anderson tripled their advantage on the stroke of half time.
Weir made it 4-0 nine minutes into the second half with Marc MacGregor and Richard Macadie scoring in the closing stages of the game.
Ricky Henderson grabbed a late consolation in injury time for the Speysiders who suffered another heavy defeat.
Academy will travel to Cove Rangers next month as the Scorries hope to avenge their 4-0 thrashing by the Aberdonians in last April's cup final.
It has also been confirmed midfielder James McLean has signed for Academy from Halkirk United.
