ABERDEENSHIRE surfers George Watt and Megan Mackay took the major honours at the Scottish Surfing Championships at Thurso East.

Watt from Fraserburgh won his first national open title beating Thurso's Mark Boyd into second and Allyn Harper from Sandend in third.

Mackay from Macduff won her first women's title beating Thurso based duo Phoebe Strachan and Shoana Blackadder into second and third respectively.
