Money raised to honour the life of the late Michael MacIntosh (known as Foxy) has been donated to Halkirk Junior FC.

A total of £5500 was presented by Michael’s daughter Erin, alongside his nieces Eilidh, Lynsey and Charley, nephew Zac and great-niece Isla.

Michael was a lifelong Rangers supporter and it was poignant that the final amount raised included the number “55”, matching the number of Scottish league championships the Ibrox club have won.

Halkirk Junior FC coach Stewart Munro, who was a friend and former team-mate of Michael’s, said: “This amazing donation to our club will provide opportunities to develop and improve the skills of all the young footballers within Halkirk Junior FC.

"On behalf of the whole club, we would like to say a massive thank-you to the family. We intend to organise an annual memorial football match in Halkirk in Michael’s memory.”
