PUPILS and staff at Miller Academy Primary School in Thurso had a colourful, fun-filled celebration to mark World Book Day on Thursday.

Head teacher Jacqui Budge said: “Our parents did a brilliant job once again and our children looked just amazing in their different outfits and a lot of them also came to school with ‘happy hair’ which was a lot of fun too.

"We were all involved in a parade in the morning, so that everyone could see each other’s outfits and learn a little about the books and our teachers in costumes also had fun participating in this. In the afternoon, we paired up classes to share the reading of books and to learn together to complete book-related activities.

"It was a very colourful and happy time enjoying books.”
