A sheriff has ordered the personal appearance of a woman who shouted and swore at children playing in a Wick street.

Cheryl Fleming (51) was due to appear at the town's sheriff court for sentence last week on a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, but she didn't turn up.

The charge originally included the allegation that she had lifted her top and exposed her bra but that was deleted in a plea-bargaining amendment by Fiscal David Barclay.

Fleming, of Murchison Street, Wick, pleaded guilty previously and admitted a previous record of offending. She sent a letter to the court which included input from her doctor.

The incident occurred in Murchison Street, on February 25.

Sheriff Ian Miller called for a background report.
