A Dunbeath woman has admitted having driven towards a car occupied by her former partner and repeatedly collided with it.
Emma Moffat (34) pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of dangerous driving at Wick Sheriff Court last week and will be sentenced next month.
The incident occurred on June 30 last year, on the A9 between Dunbeath and Wick, the court heard.
Fiscal David Barclay accepted pleas of not guilty to two charges alleging that Moffat twice flouted a court order banning her from contacting her ex.
Moffat's solicitor, Natalie Paterson, gave notice that she intends to submit a special reason defence aimed at arguing that Moffat, of Achorn House, Balnabruich, Braemore Road, Dunbeath, acted out of fear for her safety.
Sheriff Neil Wilson will also hear details of the dangerous driving offence when the accused returns to court on February 20.
