Snowfalls over the weekend turned many parts of Caithness into a winter wonderland.

Conditions were difficult for drivers but ideal for those able to get out for a walk in the icy landscape, while across the county youngsters were out in force with sledges and many families enjoyed building snowmen.

The extent of the snow cover on Saturday morning was captured in a drone image taken by Karen Munro looking east over Thurso and beyond.

Temperatures are expected to remain low during the rest of the week.
