Winners in Wick at new dancing school competition

The Vikki Mackay School of Dance held its first competition in Wick with over 100 dancers taking part from all over Scotland.

The new small school is based in Reiss Hall and started up in January 2023.

Principal teacher Vikki Mackay said: “We recently held our very first dancing competition in Newton Park Primary, Wick and 116 dancers entered from as far afield as Isle of Lewis.”

She added that there were three sessions that included five boys. Judges on the day were Claire Bryce from Inverness along with Lyndsey Jones from Aberdeen and the pipers were Glenn and Morven Miller from Watten.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support including Dounreay Employees Charity Fund which covered the judges’ expenses and Highland Council discretionary fund which covered the hall costs.”
