The all-action finale to the Harry Potter series of films – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 – is set to delight fans when it is screened in Thurso.

HARRY Potter fans will have the opportunity to see the final instalment of the movie series on the big screen this coming week when the Picture House Cinema presents Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (12A) at Skinandi’s nightclub in Thurso.

To celebrate the finale, Picture House is offering the chance for three lucky Potter fans to win a pair of tickets each.

The franchise started in 1997 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and includes Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the final story, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Since the release of the novels and then the films, fans have been gripped by the story of the boy wizard Harry Potter, with the Deathly Hallows book selling more than 44 million copies worldwide.

In the latest film, Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, is joined once more by his friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, as they struggle to defeat the evil Lord Voldemort.

The books were written by J.K. Rowling, whose real name is simply Joanne Rowling, known as Jo to her friends.

The first film was released in November 2001 and all but part one of Deathly Hallows have been screened in Thurso.

Daren Manson, of Picture House, explained: “I tried to get part one for this occasion as I thought it would be good to complete the series on the cinema screen, but, unfortunately, Warner Bros has put a hold-back on all the other Potter films.

“However, at least we are getting to see how it all ends on the big screen.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 will be shown in Skinandi’s nightclub on Saturday, October 1, with screenings at 1.25pm, 4.25pm and 7.25pm.

The Picture House has made available three pairs of tickets, one pair for each show in Thurso.

For your chance to win, all you have to do is answer the following question and e-mail your answer to info@picturehousecinema.eu with the words “Potter competition” in the subject line.

Question: What does “J” stand for in J.K. Rowling’s name?

Entries should be received by noon on Thursday, September 29.
