Win Scottish Communities League Cup final tickets
FEW nations are as passionate about football as Scots. From a kick-around in the street to watching your team play on a Saturday, football is at the very heart of communities across the country.
Football is Scotland’s national game. This season’s Scottish Communities League Cup (SCLC) tournament is a chance to celebrate everything that is good about the game and the positive role it plays in our society – promoting respect, responsibility and tolerance, and creating a lasting legacy for change within Scottish football.
With the help of £1 million funding from the Scottish Government, taken from the proceeds of crime, the SCLC is working with schools, community projects, coaches, parents and young people themselves, to promote the three campaign values of respect, responsibility and tolerance – both on and off the pitch. The SCLC has also joined forces with the Scottish Football League to devise a season of community-based activities and initiatives that have kicked off across the country.
They aim to shout about the positives of the beautiful game, as well as tackle the wider negative issues that are often associated with football – such as alcohol misuse, sectarianism, racism, domestic abuse and violence.
