Wick woman nominated for STV ‘hero’ awards show
A WICK woman has been named as a finalist in a national award scheme which will honour some of the country’s most heroic people from all walks of life.
Garry Robertson, from Wick, has been short-listed for Hero Neighbour of the Year as part of the STV programme, Finding Scotland’s Real Heroes.
The series pays tribute to people whose hard work, ingenuity, ambition and generosity has improved local communities.
The short list of nominees has been selected by a dedicated jury and will feature in a series of programmes to be aired this autumn with the overall winners being celebrated in a glittering televised awards ceremony later in the year.
At the end of each programme, viewers are invited to vote for the nominees they believe most deserve to win a Scotland’s Real Heroes Award, with the overall winners being recognised at the awards ceremony.
