Wick woman admits knife attack – but claims she was provoked





A Wick woman who attacked her partner with a knife has claimed she was provoked by him.

Lianna Gunn (34) pleaded guilty to an amended charge of repeatedly striking David MacGregor with the knife, to his injury and permanent disfigurement.

The incident occurred at their then-home in Osbourne Close, Wick, on December 5, 2020, the town's sheriff court heard on Thursday. Gunn is now living in Willowbank, Wick.

Sheriff David Sutherland continued the case until February 23 when he will hear details of the incident from Fiscal David Barclay and mitigation from solicitor Fiona MacDonald.
